Summit Sunset Hike In The Sonoran Desert
This was the welcoming moment of my time here, I think. The moment I reached the summit of Dixie Peak just in time for the sun to fall parallel to my feet. You can see what I mean:
On top of Dixie Peak was this little concrete marker lying flat in one of the purple rocks. I guess most peaks have these pressed into them, but it was kind of unexpected. A little treasure for me to look at while letting my lungs recover.
This is by far my favorite trail...though I've only hiked three different places. There's a lot left to explore, but the scenery out here is picturesque unlike other locations. I feel proud of this photo series, like I've captured views that have only existed in my mind. I'm finally seeing things come to life before me.
Sitting here working on this post kind of reminds me that I've maybe posted 1% of the travels and photo journeys I've been on. I'd like to share more, to show you more of who I am and what I do. That's a goal of mine -especially when I strike gold on a hike and get to see the sunset.
Do you see the outline of a cactus in the distance? I thought this was a quintessential desert moment...
